Lindsay
Small, the Editor of Activity
Village thought it was a wonderful undertaking
and was very pleased to
donate a complete set of laminated posters to brighten
up the hostel.
We were delighted to receive a number
of reinforced ‘flight cases’ from Les Naulls
of Alcatel Submarine Networks. These were invaluable
when packing the container with fragile goods.
Grateful thanks must go to Andy White
at Andrew
Weir Shipping Ltd. They provided us with
a container, the finances & expertise to ship it
to Fiji. This meant we were no longer restricted to
sourcing the materials we needed for the project phase
of the trip to Fiji and were able to involve local schools
and businesses for assistance e.g. the provision of
school books, tools, play equipment etc.
Ardleigh
Green Primary School very kindly gave us some chairs.
No
hostel would be complete without beds!! The offer therefore
of 22 sets of bunks beds from Mary Evans at the Cantref
Riding Centre in Powys, Wales was wonderful
news.
Having
contacted a number of children’s book publishers
we were thrilled to hear from Penny Buckland, Sales
and Marketing Director of Chrysalis
Children's Books who kindly offered to
send us some books.
Dunningford
Primary School hearing of our plea kindly donated some
sports equipment.
We
have Steve Plowman from the Dulux
Trade Centre in Romford to thank for decorating
equipment which was given to the project. ICI (makers
of Dulux paint) also arranged for paint to be supplied
in Fiji so that the Church on Waya could be refurbished.
